I Wonder

Oil on canvas

46cm x 61cm, 18” x 24”

Once upon a time, in a quaint little village nestled between rolling hills and babbling brooks, there lived a young woman named Isabella. She was known for her infectious laughter, her curiosity about the world, and a heart that held dreams as vast as the starry night sky.

Isabella had always been fascinated by the concept of true love and she couldn't help but wonder when her own magical moment would arrive. Isabella would close her eyes and let her mind wander, imagining a world where love was as enchanting as the tales she had read.

One late afternoon a grassy hill overlooking the village, Isabella's thoughts were interrupted by the soft sound of footsteps. Opening her eyes, she was surprised to see a mysterious figure approaching, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun.

"Hello there," the stranger said with a friendly smile. His name was Oliver, a traveller who had wandered into the village. Isabella felt a spark of connection, as if the universe itself had conspired to bring them together.

Oliver shared stories of his adventures, and Isabella was captivated by the tales of distant lands and magical encounters. They spent hours talking, laughter echoing through the hillside like music. Isabella couldn't help but wonder, "Could this be the one? The one true love I've been dreaming of?"

As time passed, their connection deepened with each passing moment, and it felt as if time itself had slowed down to savour their budding romance.

But just as Isabella thought she had found her one true love, Oliver revealed that his journey must continue, his heart drawn to the call of new horizons. Isabella felt a twinge of sadness but understood the wanderlust that tugged at Oliver's soul.

As he bid farewell, Oliver promised to return one day, leaving Isabella with a sense of hope and a newfound appreciation for the fleeting beauty of love. And so, the young woman continued to ponder the mysteries of her heart, knowing that the journey to find her one true love was as magical as the love itself.
