To many Western Australians, the Indian Ocean can feel like a bit of a highway. As the tide ebbs and flows, so to do the tankers; the lifeblood to maintaining the health of West Australian industry.

Some days it can be difficult to reconcile the industrialized luxury of my surroundings, afforded by the industry of those tankers, with my love for untamed nature. I lift my thumb to the horizon, temporarily wiping the massive barge from the scene and am left with more questions than ever. How do we find balance?
